Minimally Invasive Surgery
Laparoscopy
Dr Hugh O’Connor has extensive experience performing advanced laparoscopic procedures. This includes total hysterectomy, myomectomy and excision of severe endometriosis. He is delighted to be able to perform these procedures at the Coombe Women’s Hospital, Dublin.
Single Incision
While training abroad Dr Hugh O’Connor developed expertise in single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS). This new surgical modality can be an appropriate scar minimising approach to gynaecological surgery.
Hysteroscopy
Operative hysteroscopy is performed to correct abnormalities of the uterine cavity. This is performed as a day procedure and can be used to treat menstrual disorders, infertility or recurrent miscarriage.
Enhanced Recovery
Dr Hugh O’Connor is committed to integrating enhanced recovery after surgery protocols into every surgical journey. This allows for earlier discharge, quicker return to normal activities and reduces the risk of postoperative complications.
